Of organic cabbage. 1986. 6 acres planted with a 2 row planter, and had to cover the ground again putting the centre row in the bed with a single unit.
White cabbage, Bartelo and Marathon IIRC.
Not entirely successful, supermarkets wanted 2 kilo heads, these got to 4-5 kilo in the end. Then there was a severe frost at the end of December which ruined 1/3 of them left in the field.☹

And so began my career in farming.....

Fantastic crop....just got too big. They were probably on 18" x 20" spacing, and should have been on 18 x 18, or even 16 x 18.

Used to plant cabbage and cauli on one of those 2 furrow jobbies,the one with the spring clip holder ,fudgin things
