How low can it go?

I had a look on MartEye and the cows looked OK, if small. The camera is up high, so difficult to tell. So small, yes, but not thin.

That said, they'd sent a dozen or so away the week before, the owner said..

So someone potentially got some bargains 😕

The milk cheque is on the portal 🤯

33.46 worked out by money into bank divided by litres sent, which is probably the simplest way. That's at 4.49bf, 3.72p, 128cc and 23 bacto, averaging 32litres.
A bit better than I'd prepared for, but still a cool 14k down on last month (although we've sent less litres in November). Another 1.5ppl off for December.
72ppl in the supermarket and they claim to be losing money on milk  The public don't realise how royally fudged they are getting over food pricing

30.8ppl today for December's milk
The 1.5ppl was off the 40% liquid and the rest was being roughly 1ppl below what they'd forecast for the 60% ingredients.

I took some calves in to Gisburn today, and got talking to one of my old mates, whose son has a milk round, as well as milking his own cows.
I (only half) jokingly asked if they wanted to buy some milk.
His son is buying it in at 16ppl at the moment 😟🤯
So is spot price 16p?

Balancing supply with storable product is vital.
Can you remember earlier efforts with a dried milk plant in the south? Westbury? Access - rubbish, and about as far from the main milk fields as it could be. No idea what happened to it, or if it is still operational.

Not sure. Had a quick look and can't find a definitive answer, which is no wonder really, when you've got some farmers in the mid forties, but others tipping milk away over Christmas, and milk being poured into AD plants for nothing 🤔
I understand we are on about 40p here now

What we need is a big processing facility in West Wales, just like we had , until dairy crest shut it
