Anyone watching it? Very very entertaining and whilst he is lacking in practical skills he is far from stupid

We binge watched the series, I don’t usually like Clarkson but it was very good
As an aside for £7 quid or whatever,Amazon has an awful lot of good telly / films , we hardly ever watch the bbc or itv these days

Nope not seen it , the chatter at work is that it’s very good and the other channel seem to be mostly wetting themselves about it
Clarkson the saviour of British agriculture not so sure about that the sceptic in Me says He will only play real farmer as long as the reviews and ratings are good

I noticed another place was almost sainting Clarkson , it’s a good watch to be fair but I wonder how he would get on with a few hundred acres of hill

Just shows how poorly the industry is represented when Clarkson is mooted as our saviour.
I just find it entertaining. I can't be bothered with Kate Humble, who keeps stopping to cook something, or forage for wild garlic. " Our Summer Farm ".......not really aimed at farmers with welly throwing and Lama shagging. " Our Yorkshire Farm ". hmmmm.....OK, but I'm not livestock minded, and keep getting distracted with Amanda's ever shorter skirts...🙄
Then there's Countryfile......🙈

The stopping to cook things ruins the flow of it for me. Don't like the Yorkshire woman, too pushy and "look at me, aren't I wonderful" for my taste.

Just watched a bit of a bit on YouTube. Looked quite entertaining. Be better to be able to watch it properly but....

I like Clarkson, and the show is Clarkson doing what Clarkson does, it's entertaining and amusing. It shows the trials farming combats with the weather and prices but at the same time is obvioysly scripted.
Some of what he does is only possible because of his celebrity status, for instance who else could open a farm shop, that only sells potatoes that are past their 'best by' date, expect its customers to park in a mud bath and still have punters lining up the road to get in?.
He started the series pretending to have the David mitchel view of farming, and slowly reveals that there is a bit more to the job than that, which is a good thing.
As for Gerald, subtitles need to be turned on.

I know Clarkson is not everyone's cup of tea, but he calls a spade a spade and that suits me just fine
I also liked that he had the sense to not drill the spring barley and plant vegetables instead

I’ve watched all of them now- I think it’s one of the best farming shows that has been on tv over the past few years. It’s been seen by a LOT of people, not just interested farmers, and it portrays farming and the difficulties involved in a sympathetic light. This can only be a good thing! Personally I could have done without the more random activities (eg growing wasabi), but I understand that it helps with the scripted entertainment. I hope it comes back, and that he’s trying suckler cows/beef cattle!

Being a film buff, I particularly enjoyed the start-of-harvest homage to Kubrick’s Clockwork Orange -superb.
Malcolm McDowell at his creepy finest:

I’m currently sitting re-watching it with my 8 and 6 year olds- it’s a lot swearier than I remembered 😳
